Why Amulya

Every Amulya saree has been travelled for, searched for, held, felt, and chosen by me — from the narrow lanes of Banaras to the vibrant looms of Yeola, from Maharashtra's treasured handloom clusters to artisans across India who keep our textile heritage alive.

These sarees are not bulk-bought pieces — they are Amruta-handpicked, with precision, with intuition, and with love.

Amulya exists to bring beauty, heritage, and elegance together — to make every woman feel priceless.

What you are buying

What we check before a saree is bought, and what you should check before any saree is.

  • 100%

    handloom

Every saree here came off a hand-operated loom. A powerloom runs the same design off in under an hour and sells it under the same name. In a photograph they look alike. As objects they are not.

  • 0

    floats on the reverse

Turn a powerloom copy over. The threads run right across the back of the design, carried from one motif to the next and cut away. On a true interlocked-weft pallu nothing is carried, so there is nothing to cut. Ask any seller to turn the saree over.

  • GI

    where it applies

Paithani is a registered Geographical Indication ([GI number], [year]). The name is protected; the cloth sold under it on a station platform for [₹ amount] is not covered by it. Ask for the mark, and for the weaver's name.

  • 0

    middlemen

Bought at the loom or in the cluster, from the people who wove it — not out of a wholesaler's warehouse. It is why the price is what it is, and why the weaver can be named.
