The panja pallu took the weaver longer than the rest of the saree put together. This is handloom in the older sense: no shortcuts in the ground, and nothing printed over a plain weave to stand in for work.

It photographs deep and wears lighter than it looks. A saree for the day people take photographs of you, and for the twenty years after that.

Dry clean only, and only with someone who has handled real zari before. Store folded in cotton, never in plastic, and refold along a different line every few months so the silk does not crease along the same fold. Keep out of direct sunlight, and never spray perfume onto the cloth.
